ABOUT THE PRODUCERS:
300 farmers, all members of The Bukonzo Tribe, who are a group of descendants living throughout the Rwenzori Mountains, covering both Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. Individuals do not necessarily identify as citizens of either country, they will proudly announce their Bukonzo heritage.
ABOUT THE PROCESS:
Partially sun dried, partially machine dried.
Note: Normally Agri Evolve fully sun dry their coffees, however a recent influx of rain has seen them use mechanical drying to control drying despite challenging weather conditions. This is just one ongoing challenge for farmers all over the world, due to droughts and floods brought on by climate change.
ABOUT THE VARIETAL:
Varietals SL14 & SL28 are chosen predominantly in coffee farming for their high yields and resistance to droughts. SL28 and SL34 also offer exceptional cup quality. Both are celebrated for their distinct, enjoyable taste; often described with fruity notes like blackcurrant, berries, and citrus, along with a bright acidity, showcased beautifully in this fresh crop of Ugandan coffee.
